    Confronting uncertainty in European labour markets in the crisis

    The 2008 financial crisis and its continuing aftermath have thrown into question earlier European policies concerning flexibility and security in labour markets. New approaches and policies are needed. For the past three years a team of researchers from across Europe has been working on these issues, in research project GUSTO, funded by the Commission’s FP7 programme. The conference will examine conclusions reached by the GUSTO team and what they may mean for policymakers and social partners.

    Challenge Social Innovation - Innovating Innovation by Research - 100 years after Schumpeter

    Fostering innovation will be the cornerstone of future European research funding policies. The targets set out in the EU2020 strategy demand a broader concept of innovation, including the social dimension in technology and business innovation and implementing a coherent notion of social innovation in all sectors of society. Highlighting the significance of social innovation as well as defining future research topics of social innovation are the core objectives of this conference.
