The October edition of our e-magazine "ISSUES - The voice of SSH in Europe" has been published.
This edition focuses on the question on how to ensure fruitful and effective SSH integration.
To address this issue, an Expert Meeting entitled ‘SSH in H2020: Societal Challenge 6 and integration in other Challenges’ has been organised by Net4Society, in cooperation with European Commission's DG Research and Innovation. Subsequent to this workshop, Net4Society conducted interviews with the coordinators of successful projects, who shared with us their views on the challenges and benefits of integrating SSH into projects and their experience in finding relevant partners with SSH expertise.
Elisabeth Lipiatou, Head of Unit 'Open and inclusive societies', DG RTD, European Commission, answered the question of how she sees the role of Social Sciences and Humanities in tackling current societal challenges in Europe and why it is important to integrate Social Sciences and Humanities as a cross-cutting issue in Horizon 2020. While looking ahead she provided insight in her future vision for Social Sciences and Humanities in the next framework programme.
In addition, ISSUES highlights some of the recently published policy briefs that communicate project research results from the Social Sciences and Humanities programme to policy makers.
